Our Story

Why We Do What We Do

Between my junior year of high school and my junior year of college, three family friends lost their teenage children in car accidents. Two were the drivers. One was a pedestrian. They were kids I’d grown up with — and the grief that followed shaped how I think about teen driving to this day.

Decades later, when I learned about Jungle Driving School, I recognized something different. This wasn’t another classroom-and-clipboard program designed to push teens through a test. It was driver’s education built the way it should be — immersive, memorable, and honest about the risks teens actually face on the road.

That’s why we brought Jungle Driving School to St. Louis. Our teens drive Highway 40, navigate the I-170 Innerbelt, share the road with semis on I-44, and face ice storms, flash floods, and Midwest weather that turns on a dime. They deserve more than a passing grade. They deserve preparation that sticks.

Every lesson we teach is built around The Jungle Way — because every teen who walks through our doors deserves to make it home.

Shannon Terrill

Born and raised in St. Louis, Shannon has spent her entire career helping people learn — first as a second-grade teacher, then across 25 years in corporate technology, most recently as Vice President of Training & Education. She holds an MBA from Saint Louis University and founded her own consultancy before deciding her next chapter needed to be closer to home — and closer to the community she loves. Shannon launched Jungle Driving School STL alongside her husband Ben, her partner in both life and business, to bring something St. Louis genuinely needs: driver education that takes the craft of teaching seriously.
