Our Story

Why We Do What We Do

We started Jungle Driving School because we saw it firsthand—teens leaving traditional driver’s ed with a license, but not the confidence to handle real roads. We knew it had to change. In Cedar Rapids, driving isn’t predictable. The weather shifts fast, roads can be challenging, and every day brings something new. That’s why this matters to us.

We built Jungle Driving School around one goal: helping new drivers feel truly ready—not just to pass a test, but to stay safe for life.

Through The Jungle Way, we focus on real experiences, not just rules. We sit beside our students as they face the same situations they’ll encounter on their own—busy intersections, sudden weather changes, and the unexpected moments that make driving stressful. We guide them, support them, and help them build confidence step by step.

Coaching new drivers isn’t just about skills—it’s about guiding them through uncertainty and helping them trust themselves. I take pride in creating a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace, so they leave not just licensed, but truly prepared for the road ahead.

My name is Stacy West and I’m excited to be a part of this amazing team at Jungle Driving School . My husband and I have 3 sons Preston (29) John (26) David (24). My husband and I have lived here for 33 years.

Devin Sires

My name is Devin Sires and I'm excited to be joining the team at Jungle. My wife Jill and I have 4 kids - Jacob, Aubrey, Emma, and Charlotte. Jill and I grew up in Cedar Rapids and are blessed to now be raising our children here as well. I stay active in the community as an Assistant Bowling Coach and President of our Show Choir Fundraising Efforts at Xavier High School. I am also a music minister at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and have led our Vacation Bible School efforts for many years. And I love the Iowa State Cyclones! #CyclONEnation 😉 I'm learning more how important it is to provide an effective and worthwhile drivers education experience. I believe the team at Jungle are doing just that. I am fortunate to be a part of the team.

I'm Laura. I am a 54-year-old mother of three and a proud grandmother of two, shaped by a lifelong commitment to service. With a degree in criminal law, I spent 30 years in the police department, retiring as a Crime Scene Investigator. Now, I've traded investigations for a new chapter behind the wheel as a school bus driver - finding joy in simpler moments and staying connected to my community.

Bret Ranard

Hi, I'm Bret, I bring 33 years of experience in education and coaching, with a strong foundation as a middle school teacher. My background has centered on building relationships, developing skills, and helping students grow with confidence. I focus on clear instruction, positive reinforcement, and real-world application, creating an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and prepared to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
